Trip to the fire station

A big shout out to all the parents, grandparents and nannies who accompanied us on a trip on the overground to visit Euston fire station. The children had a great time and learned lots about what the fire fighters do and how they go about their day. They climbed on the engines, watched the firefighters sliding down their poles, tried on the prohibitively heavy helmets and protective clothing and, most fun of all, took turns to operate the hoses. This experience has inspired lots of fire rescue role-play and detailed drawings of the day.
