The RSG community
A successful parent/school partnership is built on trust, respect and a shared vision of early years education inside of a wider community.
Teaching children about kindness and community responsibility is fundamental to our approach.
The notions of charity and giving back to the wider community are both part of the curriculum and inspired by it. Children learn that helping others brings joy and makes a real difference, developing empathy and gratitude, and helping to instil a sense of social responsibility.
Giving back
We are proud to support Greenfingers who provide life-limited children, their families, and carers, within their hospice, emotional support through the power and pleasure of nature.
The children host breakfast for their parents in aid of the charity Magic Breakfast who offer breakfast and expert advice to tackle morning hunger in schools across England and Scotland.
Every summer we run a children's craft stall at The Primrose Hill Community Association summer party – a joyous event for the whole local community, helping to raise money for the Community Association.

Enriching the curriculum
Our community, like London itself, is multicultural and multilingual.
Our families give us much to celebrate – traditions, festivals, stories and music from around the world are part of the children’s experience.
Our curriculum is enriched by our diverse and inclusive community – parents are encouraged to come in throughout the academic year to share and celebrate cultural festivals and traditions with their child’s class.
Forest school & outings
Parents are welcome to join their child for Forest School sessions, where the children learn about the natural world through exploration, problem solving and working as a team.
Help build dens, identify plant species, hunt for mini-beasts and spend a morning connecting with nature.
Parents are also welcome to volunteer to join their child’s class on special outings, such as a museum, a theatre show, the fire station or a nature reserve.

Special events
We ensure many opportunities throughout the year for parents and carers to come into the centre, and be an active member of the RSG community.
As autumn term draws to a close and winter is upon us, parents are welcomed into their child’s centre to hear and join in with festive singing and to see ‘Chrismukkah’ performances.
A joyful, fun event in the summer term, parents are invited to watch, support and take part in the children’s sports day. Afterwards, parents, teachers and children sit down together for a picnic.
Exhibitions & dance
Children are involved in every element when curating science fairs or transforming our spaces into museums. Parents are invited in to see the exhibits and watch experiments as they happen.
Dance and movement sessions take place every week and are an important element of the children’s education, developing their physical strength, balance and coordination. They also give children a way to express the feelings and thoughts which they can’t always put into words.
Parents are invited in for performances, giving the children a chance to show their creativity and confidence.

Parent partnership
Each centre has two parent reps per academic year. They meet with the principal and the lead educator once a term to share parent feedback, raise questions and help guide decisions about the school.
Our parent coffee mornings give parents the opportunity to meet and catch up with other parents from across the Ready Steady Go community and chat informally with the principal.
Parents are welcome to book time to talk with our principal or their child's key person at any point to discuss their child's progress and any questions they may have.
