Opened in 2023, Ready Steady Go St John’s Wood is located on St John’s Wood Terrace, close to the heart of the St John's Wood neighbourhood.
The centre has separate spaces for children aged two to three and three to five, allowing each age group to learn and play in an environment suited to its stage of development.
The centre has a large outdoor space, giving children plenty of opportunities to move, explore and learn outside as part of their everyday experience.
The centre was awarded strong in all areas in it's latest Ofsted inspection under the new framework - the equivalent of Outstanding in all areas under the previous framework.

Ages
Pre-school from age two to five, with the option to stay for a Reception year.
Your Child's Day
Children aged two begin with mornings from 9am to 12pm, with full days running from 9am to 2pm. Children aged three and over attend from 9am to 2pm.
Early Birds & Clubs
Early Birds drop-off is available from 8.15am.
Days & Terms
Monday to Friday during term time.
Playweeks are available during most holiday times.

St John’s Wood is widely known for its calm, village-like feel: a residential neighbourhood with independent shops, cafés and everyday family amenities centred on St John’s Wood High Street.
The centre is a short walk from St John’s Wood Underground station and the 274 bus on St John’s Wood Terrace, with local routes along Wellington Road.
Children visit nearby St John’s Wood Library and use both Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill for outdoor learning and local outings. The centre’s large outdoor space adds another place for children to play, explore and spend time outside each day.

Life at Ready Steady Go
Ready Steady Go is one school, sharing the same ethos, curriculum and educational oversight across our centres. Our approach centres on holistic development, understanding that true learning happens when children feel secure, valued, and genuinely excited about discovery.
Your child's day
A day at St John’s Wood balances planned teaching with child-initiated play. Small-group activities are designed with particular learning objectives in mind while responding to the interests and experiences of the children.
At St John’s Wood Terrace, the day moves naturally between a calm indoor classroom base and the extensive outdoor setting around it. Indoors, children take part in small-group teaching, stories, songs, creative work, cooking and practical activities, alongside time to follow their own interests through play.
Outside is a central part of the day, not an add-on. Children have space to move, climb, ride, investigate, grow herbs and take part in messy, physical and imaginative play. Dance and movement also take place each week, supporting coordination, confidence and body awareness.
Children take part in stories, songs, creative activities, cooking, movement and practical investigations. Phonics begins through songs, stories, rhymes and listening activities, before Reception-age children progress to more formal phonics and early reading.

The team
Alex leads the centre and has been with Ready Steady Go for ten years. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Her deputy, Vicky is one of our longest standing team members having been with us for more than 20 years. She holds an NVQ Level 4 in Childcare and Education.
