Outstanding early years education since 1988

Ready Steady Go
North London Pre-School

Family-owned and operated pre-school in North London. We care for children from birth to five at our centres in Primrose Hill, South Hampstead and St John's Wood, all run as one school with one ethos.

Our pre-school helps and encourages children to develop into independent and confident individuals, preparing them for their next educational step.

'Inspirational leadership, a highly motivated and reflective staff team, and rigorous self-evaluation at all levels, contribute to exceptionally high standards' Ofsted

Welcome from our Principal

“At Ready Steady Go we help your child flourish both whilst they are with us, and at their future schools.”

[Harriet's existing welcome text stays here in full: developing a positive attitude to learning, strong relationships with other children and teachers, confidence and resilience, critical thinking, and a sense of wonder and appreciation of life's richness and diversity.]

One school, three neighbourhoods

Ready Steady Go runs as one school, not a chain of separate nurseries. Every centre shares the same ethos, curriculum and educational leadership, so your child gets the same quality of care wherever they start.

Each centre is small enough to feel part of its own neighbourhood. Children explore, experiment and follow their own interests within a carefully planned programme, and children often move between our settings as they grow, from Under 2s through to pre-school and Reception.

Ready Steady Go began in 1988 in our founder Jennifer's home in Primrose Hill, and Primrose Hill is still at the heart of the school today. Since then we have grown one centre at a time, opening in South Hampstead in 2010 and St John's Wood in 2023, while staying family-owned.
