Parental involvement

A successful parent/school partnership is built on trust, respect and a shared vision of early years education.

Our parents are a vital part of the Ready Steady Go community. Our educational programme is enriched by parents sharing with us their time, experience, skills, culture and knowledge. It is important to us that we have a productive and mutually respectful partnership with parents.

Parent reps

Each centre has two parent reps per academic year. They meet with the principal and the lead educator once per term, to give parent feedback, raise any questions and help to guide us school decision making.

Enriching the curriculum

Our curriculum is enriched by our diverse and inclusive community – parents are encouraged to come in throughout the academic year to share and celebrate cultural festivals and traditions with their child’s class.

Volunteer for Forest School

Parents are welcome to join their child for Forest School sessions – where the children learn about the natural world through exploration, problem solve and work as a team. Help build dens, identify plant species, hunt for mini-beasts and spend a morning connecting with nature.

Mystery reader

Parents are invited in to take over story time and surprise their child as the Mystery reader.

Join us on outings

Parents can volunteer to join their child’s class on special outings – a museum, theatre show, fire-station, nature reserves and  more.

Coffee Mornings

Our parent coffee mornings give parents the opportunity to meet and catch-up with other parents from across the Ready Steady Go community and chat informally with the principal.
